Graduate Bio:
Latisha Baker is a 1995 Women's Initiative
alumna. She is a self-taught artist who
has experimented with many art forms, including
jewelry design and wearable art clothing,
before finding her niche as a pyrographer
("firewriter"). When she purchased
her first woodburning tool, she had no idea
that this medium would unlock a door to
a new genre of creativity.
She is also a writer/poet and has launched
a very successful line of greeting cards
called “Sharing Life on Paper,”
which are written passages about life experiences
in transition.
Latisha states "My mission is to share
my life experiences in hopes of touching
the lives of others through affirming words
and visual art." She lives in Oakland,
California with her husband and two children.
